Albendazole Oral Emulsion, a national new drug, was developed by Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) ,Ministry of Health P.R.China, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region for Disease Control and Prevention Center and Shaanxi Hanjiang Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd.(SXHJP) in 1996.The product which is produced in GMP complied plant and mainly used in controlling hydatid disease, was commercially manufactured and launched by SXHJP in 2003.The product is a patented drug and SXHJP has its intellectual property and approved number：H20050961

Hydatid Disease (Echinococcosis), a chronic zoonotic infectious disease, is seriously harmful to human health. The disease mainly outbreaks in western China, Inner Mongolia and semi-pastoral areas as well as semi-pastoral areas in middle and western Asian countries. The highly contagious infectious disease is harmful, difficult to cure etc., which seriously affect the lives of the pastoral people and life.

Majority of patients affirm good treatment of Albendazole Oral Emulsion. Currently, the product was a first selected drug to treat hydatid disease, which was recommended by CDC. After 10 years clinical application, cure rate of albendazole oral emulsion can reach 95.5%.Comparing with albendazole tablet and capsule, its prevention and cure rate got 30~40% increase.

Description:

Albendazole oral emulsion is an orally administered broad-spectrum anthelmintic. Chemically, it is methy 5-(propylthio)-2-benzimidazolecarbamate. 

Its molecular formula is C12H15N3O2S.Its active ingredient is albendazole and molecular weight is 265.34. It has the following chemical structure:  

Usage:

Hydatid Disease: Albendazole  oral emulsion is indicated for treatment of cystic disease of the liver, lung, and peritoneum, caused by the larval form of tapeworm, echinococcosis.

Dosage and Administration:

Indication	Patient	Dose	Treatment course
Hydatid Disease	Adults	0.8~1.0ml/kg*weight(10~12.5mg/kg Albendazole),twice daily.	One month for each treatment course; normally it takes five cycles; treatment interval is 7~10 days.
	Children	Half of adult’s dose	One month for each treatment course; normally it takes five cycles; treatment interval is 7~10 days.
